Welcome to Metro!

Welcome to Metro! We're so glad you want to learn more about us. In this section of our website, you can find information about our location, our schedule, and the nature of our worship. You can also find out more about our minister and our elders and deacons. Hopefully, this will make you feel more comfortable as you plan a visit.

If you have the time, please check out our Ministries section as well. We pray that in doing so, you'll see how the church at Metro is serving God by reaching out to those in the community and beyond and by reaching in to provide opportunities for learning, fellowship, growth, and service to the family at Metro.

If you want to know more, please feel free to
call or email us. We look forward to hearing from you and hope you visit soon!

Location

Our building is on the east side of Dodge Park Rd., across the street from the Sterling Heights library. Entrances are on the side and at the back of the building. You are welcome to use either entrance, though the back is closest to the parking lot. We have numerous handicap parking spots, and there is plenty of room to accommodate wheel chairs inside our auditorium.

Our Worship

At Metro our goal is to incorporate into our community the identity, practices, and teachings of the church as it appears in the pages of the New Testament. We want to believe as they believed, preach as they preached, and worship as they worshipped. We also try to avoid man-made traditions as our desire is to worship in a way that allows no barriers between our members and our Lord as we come together at the foot of the cross. As a result, our worship service is Christ-centered and simple, but also personal, dynamic, and up-lifting.
We sing a cappella (without musical instruments), using song books as well as a paperless hymnal on our overhead screen. We also pray together, share in the communion, read from the Bible, and receive encouragement through the preaching of God's word.

During communion, we remember Christ and His sacrifice for us. You are welcome to share in the unleavened bread and grape juice. If you choose not to, simply pass the plate down the pew to the person next to you or return it to the server.
We collect an offering during our time together, but as a guest, you are not expected to contribute. However, if you feel comfortable doing so, please fill out a pink visitor's card (located in the back of each pew) and place it in the collection plate or hand it to someone after worship.

After the sermon, during the singing of a hymn, we invite anyone who needs our prayers or desires to be baptized into Christ, to come to the front pew and share his or her needs with one of our shepherds or with the minister.
